2018 Sunday Concert Series

After the huge success of the 2017 Sunday Concert Series, the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium is proud to present the 2018 series, packed with some of Australia’s most prodigious musicians whilst retaining the intimate atmosphere that audiences have come to love.

Featured ensembles include the Acacia String Quartet, Arcadia Winds, violinist Glenn Christensen with the inimitable Stewart Kelly, Daniel de Borah and Sydney Symphony Principal Cellist Umberto Clerici, and our very own Patrick Brearley with a selection of his colleagues from Brisbane and Melbourne.

Concert dates are: 
Concert One | Sunday 8 April, 3pm  Acacia Quartet – An Italian Serenade. String quartets by Hugo Wolf, Puccini, John Peterson, Verdi and Turina. Click here to purchase tickets

Concert Two | Sunday 20 May, 3pm  Pat Brearley & Friends – Mozart Clarinet Quintet, Mendelssohn String Quartet No 2, Tchaikovsky “Souvenir de Florence”

Concert Three | Sunday 17 June, 3pm – Arcadia Wind Quintet – Wind quintets by Janacek, Ravel, Ibert, Williams and Skipworth.

Concert Four | Sunday 26 August, 3pm – Glenn Christensen, violin and Stewart Kelly, piano with Pat Brearley, viola and Alex McPherson, cello. Program includes Stravinsky Suite Italienne, Poulenc Violin Sonata, Sibelius Five Pieces, Szymanowski Nocturne and Tarantella, Shostakovich prelude and Rachmaninoff Vocalise.

Concert Five | Sunday 7 October, 3pm – Umberto Clerici, cello with Daniel de Borah, piano. “Two Musician in Fugue State”. Program explores the fugue in works for cello and piano by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, and includes a conversation with Umberto Clerici.

Each concert will comprise two 40 minute halves witha 20 minute interval, during which time you will be able to enjoy an afternoon tea on the forecourt. Disabled access and wheelchair seating is available, please call us on 6652 1592 to notify us of of your needs after purchasing your tickets.

This listing is for the entire concert series at a reduced price of Adult $180 (save $20), Concession $150 (save $25), Studen under 18 $60 (save $15). Concession cards will need to be shown at the door.
