Teaching
Timetable
The Conservatorium operates four terms, closely aligned with
the public school timetable.
Teaching is conducted Monday to Saturday, including school
designated pupil-free days.
The Conservatorium is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Term dates for 2010 are as follows:
- TERM 1: Monday 1 February - Thursday 1 April inclusive (9 weeks)
- TERM 2: Monday 19 April - Saturday 3 July inclusive (11
weeks)
- TERM 3: Monday 19 July - Saturday 25 September inclusive
(10 weeks)
- TERM 4: Monday 11 October - Saturday 15 December inclusive
(10 weeks)

Individual Lessons
(Single Study)
Instrumental, vocal and theory/musicianship.
- 30 Minutes: $25 per lesson
- 45 Minutes: $35 per lesson
- 60 Minutes: $45 per lesson
Shared Lessons
Instrumental and vocal tuition only.
Maximum of 3 students per lesson. Full fee payable in advance.
- $150 per student for 10 weeks
Early Childhood Music (25 years)
Maximum of 10 students and minimum of 5 students per group. Full fee payable in advance.
- Age 2:
$100 per 10 weeks of 30-minute lessons
- Ages 3, 4 and 5:
$100 per 10 weeks of 45-minute lessons
Early Years Instrumental
Program
Maximum of 8 students and minimum of 4 students per group. Full fee payable in advance.
Primary Strings (58 years)
Keyboard Group (57 years)
- $100 per 10 weeks of 45-minute lessons
Ensemble Program
This program includes:
- Sounds Fine! Choir
- Just Strings
- Flute Ensemble
- Guitar Ensemble
Ensembles are free to students currently enrolled at the
Conservatorium.
Outside students: $55 per term. Full fee payable in advance.
Special Projects
Fees for special projects, workshops, masterclasses and courses (such as
Recording & Sound Design and Songwriting Course) will be as
advertised and are payable in full at time of enrolment.
Family Discount
If 2 or more family members are enrolled at the same time,
a discount of 10% for each student applies across all programs
(excluding Special Projects).
Annual Enrolment Fee
An annual enrolment fee of $35 is payable once each calendar
year by every student, except recipients of scholarships
and bursaries, or those enrolled in Conservatorium schools
programs and Special Projects. The annual enrolment fee assists with the
costs of administration and enables the Conservatorium to maintain reasonable
and affordable tuition fees.

Fee
Relief
The NSW Government, through the Department of Education
and Training, has made available limited funding to assist
students who display outstanding musical talent and those
who can clearly demonstrate that without assistance, music
training would be out of their reach.
Family Discount
If 2 or more family members are enrolled at the same time,
a discount of 10% for each student applies across all programs
(excluding Special Projects).
Bursaries and Scholarships
Bursaries and scholarships are awarded annually and at the discretion of the
Board and Director of Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium.
Music Staff provide bi-annual progress reports, which are
given serious consideration when awarding such assistance.
Applications for a Bursary or Scholarship can only be lodged
at the Conservatorium Office. All applications, delivered
by the closing date, will be considered. Applications are
invited from students aged 8 to under 25 years who are
undertaking single study lessons.
- Closing Date for 2011 Scholarship and Bursary Program is 1pm on Saturday 18 September
2010.
- Scholarships Auditions will be held on Sunday 7 November
2010.

Helfgott Scholarships
Helfgott Scholarships, administered by the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium, are offered bi-annually and are available in 2010. Two scholarships are available to the value of $3,000 each:
- David Helfgott Scholarship (young instrumentalists under 21 years of age)
- Gillian Helfgott Scholarship (young singers under 25 years of age)
Deadline for submitting your application is midday, Saturday 3 July 2010.

Refund
Policy
Please note the following Terms and Conditions of Enrolment,
to which every student agrees when undertaking tuition
at the Conservatorium:
- Fees for all Group Lessons, Shared Lessons and Ensembles are payable
in full prior to commencement of the term.
- Individual lessons can be paid by the term or weekly,
provided they are kept up to date.
- Lessons may be cancelled if fees are more than 2 weeks
in arrears.
- Lessons missed by the Teacher will be made up or credited
to the student account.
- Lessons missed by the student must be paid in full.
No refunds will be given for failure to attend lessons.
Teachers will not make up lessons missed by the student.
- Where exceptional circumstances prevent the student
attending, such as illness supported by a medical certificate,
an alternative arrangement if available must be negotiated
with the administration staff, not the Teacher.
- Parents are responsible for ensuring their children are
not left unattended before and after lessons. The Conservatorium
cannot be held responsible for students outside their lesson
times or away from Conservatorium premises.
