The Conservatorium delivers a strong ensemble program for all levels and styles of music. Playing or singing in an ensemble is vital to the development of any musician and provides opportunities for social interaction among peers, performance opportunities, deeper understanding of the role of their chosen instrument in the context of an ensemble, and the pleasure of adapting skills learnt in individual lessons in a shared musical experience with other musicians of a similar standard.
Ensemble playing contributes positively to a student’s ongoing dedication to their single studies. All ensemble sessions are guided and tutored by highly qualified teachers and specialist ensembles are formed collaboratively across the Conservatorium staff. We encourage all students to be part of the ensemble program.
