Following two years of interruptions, cancellations and postponements, the Festival brings arts and culture back to the Coast in spectacular fashion, delivering some of the country’s finest musicians on stage at the Coffs Con for a celebration of chamber music, arts, culture, and community.
The festival will begin on Friday 8 April with a world premiere of a composition commissioned for the festival by local Gumbaynggirr man Manduway Dutton alongside the Australian String Quartet. Following this will be a spectacular performance of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky string quartets.
Saturday 9 April sees Academy students work alongside festival musicians and ASQ with educational workshops and masterclasses, leading up to the combined concert at 2pm. After a relaxing afternoon, the Saturday evening concert brings a program rarely performed together, being the dramatic Death and the Maiden String Quartet, and the beautiful Schubert Quintet in C Major.
Sunday 10 April brings the Festival to a close with the stunning music by Aaron Copland in Appalachian Spring.
Tickets go on sale early January with full-festival tickets and individual concert tickets available.
If you wish to play an integral role in bringing the Festival to life, please don’t hesitate to contact Conservatorium Director on pbrearley@coffscon.org.au to discuss how your financial support could assist in the delivery of this first of it’s kind event for Coffs Harbour.
