A week of string playing, fun, friendship and collaboration, what could be better in the school holidays?

The Coffs Coast String camp is an immersive week of music for young string players. It is open to violin, viola, cello and double bass students aged 8-23.
Students get the chance to discover exciting new string orchestra music, work collaboratively with student colleagues, and learn from some of the best string educators and players in the country. A strong music reading ability is required for camp participation.

This year’s camp we are thrilled to have Patricia Pollett, Professor of Viola at the University of Queensland tutoring alongside the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Momentum Ensemble as Artists in Residence. As included in the camp experience is the Thursday night Staff Concert ticket which will have the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Momentum Ensemble presenting an exciting and engaging program of string chamber music.

Alongside orchestra rehearsals and tutorials, students are treated with solo masterclass opportunities and workshops. The project will then culminate in the Grand Finale Concert Friday afternoon. Students will present what they have been working on during the week, with a delightful selection of music for family and friends in a free public concert.
