Welcome, Glen!

A message from the new Artistic Director

As most of you may know, the previous Conservatorium Director, Pat Brearley, resigned late last year. After a selection process and a period over the Christmas break as Acting Artistic Director I have now accepted the post of Artistic Director of the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium. The incredibly able Elly Keating has been promoted to the position of Operations Manager to assist with the management of the Conservatorium.

For myself, the last few weeks have been very busy moving out of a holding pattern and familiarising myself with the full scope of the programs of the Conservatorium. Consequently, while there are a number of exciting developments and events planned for this year at the Con it is taking a little longer than usual to get our 2024 program up on the website and other communications out to our patrons and customers.

You should see our various concert series and some of our special events appear on the web site next week as we work with our web manager to ensure all the details are informative and correct. This is especially important as there have been a few changes to our regular formats.

Save the date! From Friday 11 October until Sunday 13 October this year, we will be celebrating the 40th birthday of the Coffs Harbour Conservatorium and it is exciting for me to be associated with such a prestigious and resilient organisation at this crucial stage of its existence. I will send out some updates on the visionary plans we have for the next stage of the Conservatorium’s life as they crystalise.

I have enjoyed immensely meeting many of you as you pass through our doors and at other Coffs Harbour arts events over the last month or two and encourage you to feel free to drop in for a chat at any time. Please email or phone the Conservatorium office with any questions or comments and I look forward to seeing you soon!
