Coria Bjerking
Cello
Coria is a classically trained cello teacher dedicated to developing students’ technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence in performance. She teaches at the conservatorium and works with students across a range of levels.
She holds formal music qualifications including ABRSM Piano Grade 8, ABRSM Music Theory Grade 5, AMEB Cello Grade 8, and Beijing Conservatory Guzheng Grade 9. Her training encompasses both Western classical and traditional Chinese music.
In addition to her teaching, Coria is actively involved in church music, where she leads worship bands, coordinates musicians, and directs ensemble rehearsals. This experience informs her teaching, particularly in rhythm, listening, and ensemble skills.
Her teaching approach emphasises the development of musicianship, including tone, rhythm, and confident performance in both solo and ensemble contexts. She also provides piano accompaniment to support students in performance preparation.
