Phill Began teaching drums at Chatswood school of music and playing in various bands around Sydney before moving to Coffs Harbour in 1990. He then commenced teaching at Coffs Regional Conservatorium in 1996 and has enjoyed and seen many changes there since culminating in the wonderful facilities we have today.
Phill has enjoyed playing in various groups around Coffs (mainly jazz) over the years and have recently purchased The Spareroom Bar and restaurant in Sawtell where a pool of local musicians can be heard Sunday and Wednesday evenings. I enjoy teaching various styles of music and my goal is to always inspire and encourage my students to the joys of making music.

Where did you undergo training?
Studied drums with Jon Collins at Chatswood School of Music followed by private lessons with legendary jazz drummer Phil Trelor.  

What instrument(s) do you teach?
Drums, Saxophone

What is your favourite genre of music?
My main musical preference is Contemporary Jazz.

Who is your favourite musical artist or composer?
If I had to nominate my favourite musical artist it would be pianist Keith Jarrett.
