Academy of Piano Performance

The inaugural Academy of Piano Performance is a school holiday workshop program aimed at students aged 12-24.
The 4-day intensive program consists of pedagogical workshops, body rhythm workshops, one-on-one lessons with Academy tutors Roger Cui and Lana Chapliiova, performance opportunities, and three concerts presented by staff and visiting artists.
APP aims to ignite piano students of the Coffs Coast area and beyond by providing exceptional learning and musical experiences to the region, and delivers world-class tuition and education right at the home of music education on the Coffs Coast, the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium.

18:00 to 19:00 Welcome and Opening of the Academy with recital by Roger Cui
12th July
10:00 to 13:00 – Masterclass with Roger in Performance Space
15:00 to 17:00 – Private tuition by Lana
18:00 to 19:00 – Concert for Piano and Dance – ‘ Tchaikovsky’s Many Moves’ in collaboration with NAIDU Theatre Company
13th July
10:00 to 12:00 – AMEB Examination Workshop including Technique, Aural, and Sight reading preparation (with Lana Chapliiova and Roger Cui)
15:00 to 17:00 – Masterclass by Roger in Performance Space
18:00 to 19:00 – Concert for Piano in a chamber music setting
14th July
10:00 to 11:00 – Rhythm through Body Movement with Lana in Performance Space
12:00 to 14:00 – Private tuition with Roger
15:00 to 16:00 – Closing of the Academy with a student showcase concert
