Fundraiser Concert Catch-Up
Earlier this term (1), we had some amazingly talented string students perform a Fundraising Concert for their upcoming Europe tour. The Quintet held three local shows, all raising money and showcasing their talents to the region. I caught up with Mercedes (celloist) who gave us an overview of how the weekend performances went:
“This March, five of our talented students from the Coffs Harbour Conservatorium organised and performed three incredible concerts to raise funds for their tour of Europe with the Regional Youth Orchestra in July.”

“The concert series kicked off at the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre, where they performed a diverse program of Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, and Nordic Folk tunes. They then performed in the CHRC hall showcasing their incredible talent and dedication. From quintets and trios to duos and solo works, the audience was entertained by a distinct and memorable programme. With special thanks to Amelia Burley for her help, the concert was a great success! Their final concert was in Coramba, where the community once again showed their support for the young talents.
The performers over this weekend were able to raise $7000 for their upcoming trip! The local support was felt so much for these young musicians however, they’ve now raised the bar. Their new goal is $15 000 so, if you’d like to support them further on their incredible journey click the link in their donation site or scan the QR code below.
A heartfelt thank you to anyone who attended, donated, and supported these students in any way! They are so excited to represent our community on the international stage and we can’t wait to see what they achieve in Europe!”
