The Coffs Con Stage Band, Young Strummers, The Adult Guitar Ensemble, Soul and The Bass and Six Again are five contemporary and jazz music bands you can join to practice playing music together.

Playing in a band is a fun way to increase your skills in harmony, rhythm, balance, intonation and performance – and you’ll be able to take what you’ve learned back into your individual lessons.

Our contemporary and Jazz bands perform all over the Coffs Coast, creating exciting and memorable musical experiences.

Coffs Con Stage Band

Funk, Soul, Motown, Blues, Afro Cuban, Brazilian and Salsa.

With regular performances on stage, the Stage Band is open to players of saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and rhythm section and piano. Brass and percussion players especially welcome!

With weekly rehearsals and a quarterly concert, this is the perfect entry level ensemble for all budding guitar players! It is open to students of primary and high school age and is aimed at beginner – intermediate skill levels.

Adult Guitar Ensemble

Guitar Ensemble for adults

Rehearses weekly and has an emphasis on music making in a relaxed and enjoyable environment with like-minded adults.

No experience required and guitars are available to hire.

Soul and The Bass

Advanced Jazz/Funk Ensemble

For our advanced Jazz/Contemporary Funk students. Soul and the Bass is directed by Dr Glen Hodges and is a high level ensemble that blends jazz and funk in a fresh, innovative manner. Horns, vocals, drummers, bass and key players are encouraged to join.

Aimed at advanced jazz / contemporary / funk students aged from 16-24, Six Again is the place to be for advance music education and performance opportunities in a fun, exciting and high paced band.
